WHAT WE DO
WELCOME TO VANDERWELL
We’re a family-owned company operating in Alberta’s Slave Lake region. Our core business is manufacturing forest products for both the domestic and international markets. A lot of our success is because of the people who work here. Making a real difference in the lives of the people who work at Vanderwell and making a positive impact in the surrounding communities is what we believe in.

POSITIONS
We’re a major employer in the Slave Lake region. There are more than 170 employees who work here in different areas and positions, such as mill production, sales and shipping, woodlands, trucking, mobile & equipment shops, and administration. Contract employees also work at Vanderwell during log hauling season, from mid-November to the end of March.
TRAINING AND TUITION SUPPORT
Throughout our operations, we require a variety of trades. People involved in apprentice training programs may be eligible to receive a portion of their wages and tuition paid by Vanderwell.

BENEFITS
Vanderwell offers extended health and dental benefits. They also match employee RRSP contributions.
A bi-weekly physiotherapy service is available on site. Anyone who works at Vanderwell and requires the services of a physiotherapist may request an appointment, free of charge.

"I started at Vanderwell in June 2020 as a Heavy Duty Mechanic apprentice in the Trucking Department. I’m now in my third year, and Vanderwell is supporting me to get my trade. Every year they pay a portion of my tuition fee when I’m in trade school. I like working at Vanderwell because the company cares about you.
