Vanderwell Contractors has expanded and continuously operates its manufacturing facilities at Mitsue Industrial Park even in depressed markets.  They are a major employer in the local region and in the provincial economy.  The company directly employs 150+ people at the sawmill/planer complex which incorporates sales, administration, woodlands and the truck maintenance shop.  In addition, the company employs 25 seasonal, contract and part-time employees in transportation and seasonal activities.

Positions Available:

  • General Labor Positions – plant wide, previous experience preferred in a mill or manufacturing facility. (Ongoing)
  • Professional Class One Truck Driver Position – Permanent Full Time
    • Qualifications
      • Minimum 3 yrs. experience driving Super B units
      • Clean Commercial Driving Abstract (3 yr)
      • Be willing to work in a team environment
      • Must adhere to Company wide Safety Policies and be able to pass drug-testing
    • Paid a competitive wage package on a bi-weekly basis via direct deposit
    • Benefit package available after probationary period completed
  • Professional Class One Truck Driver Positions (2) – Seasonal Full Time (winter)
    • Qualifications
      • Minimum 3 yrs. experience driving Super B tractor/trailer units and/or Logging tractor/trailer units
      • Clean Commercial Driving Abstract (3 yr)
      • Must adhere to Company wide Safety Policies and be able to pass drug-testing

  • Operations Manager – Position to remain open until successful candidate hired.
    • Position Summary:
      • To manage the entire Lumber Manufacturing Process; to assure the safe and effective operations of the facility; and to provide highly responsible and administrative support to the General Manager.
    • Qualifications:
      • Minimum of 10 years experience in the Lumber Manufacturing business.
      • Relevant Post-Secondary education at diploma or degree levels.
      • Supervisory experience in an industrial setting.
      • Advanced inter-personal skills and the ability to constructively direct and lead employees to excel.
      • Basic computer skills.
      • Lumber grading certificate.
